POS System
As you may be aware, the Carmel CSD Food Services Department is using a computerized Point of Sale (POS) System in all building cafeterias. I hope you find the following information useful in understanding how it works:
Comments on Accounts – The POS System has the capability of putting a comment on your student's cafeteria account. If you would like to place a restriction on a la carte purchases to a particular day of the week, please see the Lunch Account Restriction Form posted on the Food Services webpage.
Carmel CSD participates in a federally funded Child Nutrition Program and any meals, milk, and snacks served must meet program requirements. Reasonable meal accommodations will be made when the accommodation requested is due to a disability or impairment. If you are requesting a meal accommodation for a food allergy, diet restriction, or substitution, please send a doctor's note to the school nurse. The school nurse will inform the cafeteria staff and a note will be placed on your student's cafeteria account.
The Carmel Central School District offers MySchoolBucks, an online payment service providing a quick and easy way to add money to your student’s meal account using a credit/debit card. You can view recent purchases, check balances, and set-up low balance alerts for FREE! To register for a free account, go to www.MySchoolBucks.com. If you are sending your student to school with cash or a check, please make sure to have the cash or check (in any amount) in an envelope marked “Cafeteria”. Please include on the outside of the envelope your child’s name and PIN #.
Other important information to remember:
- Students cannot use the account of another student (i.e. siblings, friends, etc.)
- Cash is still accepted on the lunch lines.
- Separate checks are required for siblings in different buildings. Checks can be made payable to CCSD Cafeteria Account.
