August 12, 2026

Dear Carmel Central School District Families,

I hope this summer has provided you and your family with opportunities to rest, recharge, and enjoy time together. As we look ahead to the approaching school year, I also hope you continue to make the most of these remaining summer days.

Across the Carmel Central School District, preparations are well underway for an exciting year of learning, connection, and growth. I would like to recognize our administrators, who have been working diligently to prepare for a successful opening, as well as our outstanding custodial staff, whose hard work helps ensure that our schools are clean, safe, welcoming, and ready for students and staff.

On August 21, all class-placement information and student schedules will be released for elementary schools. On August 26th, all class-placement information and student schedules will be released for the George Fischer Middle School and Carmel High School.

Please be on the lookout for additional communication from your child’s principal with school-specific details, important dates, and information to help your family prepare for the first day of school.

I am very much looking forward to welcoming our students and families back and beginning the journey ahead together into the 2026-2027 school year. The new school year will bring countless opportunities for discovery, achievement, friendship, and personal growth. Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our schools.

Wishing you a wonderful day and remainder of the summer.

Sincerely,

Michael Plotkin
