Water Safety and Drowning Prevention
New York State recently enacted legislation (Education Law Section 926) related to water safety and drowning prevention. Beginning with the 2026–27 school year, public school districts are required to provide parents and guardians with information about drowning prevention, water safety, and safe and healthy swimming practices.
